John McCrocklin

Biography 

John McCrocklin (1953–), the son of former university president Dr. James McCrocklin, was born in Kingsville, Texas. The McCrocklin family moved to San Marcos in 1964 upon Dr. McCrocklin's hiring at Southwest Texas State College. McCrocklin graduated from the university in 1974, earning a BBA with a concentration in real estate and insurance. McCrocklin and his father started their real estate company, Jim McCrocklin & Associates Real Estate, Inc., in 1972. The business, now named John McCrocklin & Associates Real Estate, Inc., continues to operate today. McCrocklin remains involved in the San Marcos community, currently serving as vice president of the LBJ Museum of San Marcos.

McCrocklin briefly talks about his personal background and undergraduate studies at Southwest Texas State University. He describes how his father, former university president Dr. James McCrocklin, and he started their real estate company, McCrocklin & Associates Real Estate, Inc. McCrocklin details his experiences and knowledge about the real estate and development markets in San Marcos and surrounding areas. He outlines the challenges he's faced as a large-scale developer and gives reasons for his success.
