Biography

Sally Goodman was born in 1897 in Falls County. She grew up on a farm where her family raised cotton and corn. She worked as a public school teacher in small rural schools and later at a federal cannery. She and her husband E.C. Goodman moved to West, Texas after the Great Depression, where she later worked at a Methodist home in Waco.

Sally Goodman discusses her upbringing in Waco, Texas. She recounts her experiences as a student and later as a teacher in Waco. She also addresses topics such as farming, local religious life and revivals, World War I, the Great Depression, and practices such as canning and refrigeration.
